Looking back on one of our first clients that we have ever worked with there were some good moments, bad moments, and things to learn from that helped shape our future.

Who is Ruthless Vapors?

Located out in Southern California, this e-juice manufacturing company has compromised as one of the biggest vape companies in the industry since 2011. They are notoriously known for their unique flavors, band designs, and overall brands that every vape enthusiast knows.

When we first came across Ruthless vapor, back around March 2016, we were given the task to create content around their sub-brand, Drip Beats. The overall message of the brand was to be positioned in the EDM community, having novelty flavors such as “Faded” and “Pitch.” 

Creating Content

Our task was to put together a series of content that Ruthless could display on their social media, relating to the vape and EDM community, to portray the message that Drip Beats was the juice to take with you to your next concert. 

As a solution, we contacted one of our EDM connects and created content around that DJ recording. We had visuals of our DJ mixing, producing music with his laptop and some of the sound equipment that was used. 

Overall, we accomplished the job but there were clearly some faulty errors that we had made that could be changed.

What would we have done differently?

First of all, where is the juice? In our content, you can clearly see that we shot the product with no actual product in the photo. It’s evident that the supplier gave us empty bottles to work with but that shouldn’t be an excuse for good quality content. If we would have added in our own juice or even water that was colored similar towards the juice it would have made all of the difference.

Secondly, we shot in one location. The photos that were shot were pretty cool but there wasn’t a whole lot of variety. If there were about two, three more locations then we could have really portrayed an awesome message to the consumers. On a positive note we definitely appreciated the setting and the willingness for someone outside of the company to help with us.

Lastly, we shot in the daytime. It’s okay to have photography done during the day, but at the time we were limited with equipment and didn’t have the resources to accomplish a unique and relative touch with adding some lights or different settings altogether.


Ruthless Vapors is a super notorious in the vaping industry, and we had an amazing opportune time working with them. We created a series of photos for their social campaign with their product Drip Beats. Looking back on the content created we learned about brand messages being communicated through visual components as well as utilizing proper settings as well as how important proper equipment would have made the product better.
